Blackened American Whiskey is a super-premium whiskey collaboration between Master Distiller Dave Pickerell and Metallica. It is a blend of hand-selected bourbons and ryes from across North America, finished in black brandy casks. The whiskey is subjected to Metallica's playlist using the proprietary BLACK NOISE™ finishing process, which forces the whiskey to penetrate deeper into the barrel, extracting more flavors from the wood. Blackened Whiskey has a majority bourbon makeup with the next highest percentage being rye, and it is 90 proof. It is ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in a classic cocktail.
