This blend of Merlot, Syrah, and Petite Sirah is a tremendously pleasurable experience. While a portion of the wellstructured, dark-fruited red is aged traditionally in French and American oak, a unique approach is taken with the remainder: aging in rum barrels. Butterscotch, molasses, baking spices, and sandalwood are well defined on the nose, and on the palate, the character derived from the rum barrels is unmasked to reveal flavors of Luxardo cherry, graham cracker, and devil’s food cake
